Your Help is Required

7/28/09

We need every Coastsider to show up and speak at the Fish and Game Commission meeting on the 5th of August. There are no excuses for not being part of the winning team – we need everyone who cares about recreational fishing to show up and make it known that 2XA is the obvious choice. It more than achieves the conservation objectives; it does so with the least economic impact. It’s as simple as that! What should be a hands-down win for 2XA is a political underdog that only you can rescue. Be there – Woodland, Yolo Fliers Club, 10AM on the 5th of August.

We also need your letters sent to the commission and our friends at ASA have made it convenient to do so, CLICK HERE to send your letter in support of 2XA.

Thank you and your support on this will decide our future.....

More Tuna......but!!!!

7/17/08
With the break in the weather, some real nice grade albies are being caught, but let's not forget about the local fishing.  Halibut outside has been great as of late, and below we see a nice White Sea Bass caught off Treasure Island by Coastsider Russ Greve.

A little break in the Tuna weather

7/15
Well it looks like the weathers down  a bit and the tuna are back on the chomp again out of Half Moon Bay, it's not going to hold long so take the day off and go get a few.......

Well here comes the wind and there goes the water !!!

7/8/09

As the North - Westerly winds continue to blow, the warm water that was sitting just west of the half moon bay weather bouy is now on its way south west.  With winds expected to continue through next week, the great shot we had for early season tuna is now going to have be on hold for a little while.
The good news is it looks like were in for an El-Nino weather pattern so as the wind subsides, hopefully the warm water currents will push back in again.

Tuna are here!!

July 4th
Well the right conditions, the right water and the right weather has equalled a great early start to the Tuna Season.  With most boats scoring in double digits and some scores over 30 the grillers and canners are going to be busy.

Go get 'em.
Chris

A nice catch of Albies on "Toys R Us" with a bonus yellowtail!!

Are the Tuna Here?????

July 1st,
As we go into the 4th of July weekend Holiday, the weather gods have decided that they are going to give us good weather for at least a 4 day stretch.  Warm water is pushing up over the Guide and heading to the Pioneer and Gum Drop.  With what looks like a nice sharp edge and temperatures at around 60 degrees, we have high hopes that some fish will show up along with the good weather.

Good Luck and Go Get ‘em (I’ll be out there Friday)

Chris

Thank You Coastsiders for Another Success

If success is measured in inches, then we travelled miles at the 2009 Coastside Dinner at the Elks Lodge in San Mateo.  With a visit from our new lobbiest George Osborne, to representation from the ASA in the form of Gordon Robertson and Patty Doerr, all the way to the State Senate with an inspiring speech by Senate Majority Leader Dean Florez, the evening could not have gone any better.  We also presented a check to the San Francisco Tyee Foundation for $ 14,500 to continue to raise salmon and help bolster that embattled fishery.
We would like to congratulate the co-recipents of the Franko Award for this year, Craig Wood and Rick Ross.  They have been instrumental from day 1 in getting this club off the ground and keeping it moving in the right direction,  thanks guys.

So thank you Coastsiders for again stepping up and making this another Coastside Success Story.
